Zid Store Design
Zid and Salla are the two platforms most Gulf stores actually sell on, and they do not build a page the same way. A Zid store gets designed around Zid’s structure, so what you approve is what you can publish rather than an approximation of it.
- Designed inside what Zid can render
- Arabic RTL laid out first
- Homepage through to checkout
The whole store, designed as one flow
Not a homepage and a promise. Every screen a shopper passes through on the way to paying.
The full purchase path
Homepage, categories, product page, cart and checkout, designed to carry a shopper forward rather than stand alone.
Zid-native structure
Drawn around how Zid assembles a page, so nothing has to be rebuilt or dropped to publish it.
Arabic RTL from the start
Right-to-left is the first layout, not a mirrored afterthought — including numerals, forms and icon direction.
Mobile first
The phone is the real store for Gulf shoppers, so the phone layout is the one drawn first.
The screens most stores skip
Search with no results, out of stock, order confirmation — where trust is quietly won or lost.
A handover you can publish
Organised source files and the type and spacing rules a developer needs to match the design exactly.
Four stages, and you see the work at each one
The structure is agreed before any visual design begins.
Discovery
What you sell, who buys it, and what your current store gets in the way of.
Structure
Wireframes per page type, agreed with you before anything is made to look finished.
Design
The visual layer across every template — Arabic first, phone first.
Handover
Files organised for Zid, with the rules that keep the live store faithful to the design.

What designing for Zid actually involves
Zid and Salla are not the same store in two skins
They serve the same market and they are often shortlisted together, but they assemble a page differently — different template structure, different options for how a product grid behaves, different room to move on the checkout. A design drawn for one and handed to the other arrives needing decisions nobody budgeted for.
So the platform is settled before the design starts, not after. That single choice removes most of the rework that turns a four-week project into a seven-week one.
The catalogue decides the design, not the other way round
Twenty products and two thousand products are different design problems wearing the same word. A small catalogue can afford to show everything and lead with photography. A large one lives or dies on filters, naming and search — and a beautiful grid that cannot be narrowed is just a longer scroll.
The structure work happens before the visual work for exactly this reason: what your catalogue actually looks like determines which screens matter.
Trust is a design problem in the Gulf
A shopper deciding whether to pay an unfamiliar store is reading signals, and most of them are things a designer controls: whether the shipping terms are findable, whether the return policy reads like it was written by a person, whether the product photography is consistent enough to look like one company took it.
Those pages get designed here rather than treated as legal filler. They are quiet, and they are frequently the last thing someone checks before paying.
The screens nobody designs until a customer hits one
Search with no results. A product that went out of stock between the category page and the tap. The order confirmation. A failed payment. Every one of them is a moment where a shopper decides whether this store is run by someone competent.
They are cheap to design and expensive to skip, so they are part of the work rather than an upsell.
